Bio-Smart Australia Pty Ltd began designing and manufacturing absorbents for the control of hydrocarbon spills more than a decade ago. Using organic materials and natural cleaning products to absorb oil spills was a revolutionary step back then. Even more radical was the notion that we could create spill absorbents that provided a ‘cradle-to-grave solution’ (i.e. the absorbent cleans up the spill and then biodegrades, leaving a harmless compost).
